ACA Training Scheme

ACA trainees are a very important part of our team, needed to complement and reinforce the work of our partners, managers and non training staff. Our clients cover a broad spectrum of business types and sizes from the sole trader to multi nationals with turnovers up to £60 million. We specialise particularly in overseas groups with UK subsidiaries and European companies with UK headquarters.

Our recruitment of ACA trainees to become chartered accountants is handled by the HAT Group of Accountants, of which Everett Group is a member. If you are interested in joining our firm as an ACA trainee, please visit the www.hatgroup.co.uk for full details. The HAT Group of Accountants is a consortium of over 40 small and medium sized firms based in London, East Anglia, the Home Counties and the Northwest of England. HAT provides technical, training and recruitment services and also maintains a programme of continuous career development through in-house courses and seminars right up to partner level.

What are we looking for in our trainees?

  • You should have a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades A to C including English and maths
  • You should have a minimum of 300 UCAS points
  • You should have a good degree in any subject - at least 2.1
  • You should be confident, articulate, self motivated, decisive, a team worker
  • You should have enthusiasm, personality, sense of humour, potential
  • You should be able to think on your feet, work under pressure, enjoy a challenge
  • If you can speak another language, that would be a bonus

What do we offer you in return?

Through our association with HAT, we will provide you with excellent training facilities right up to final qualification, and also continuing professional education

You will be a valued and essential part of a team. It's important to be able to work with colleagues collectively towards the same end. You will be given many opportunities to lead others and your responsibility within the team will reflect your ability

Instead of having to specialise early in just one element of audit or accountancy, as could happen in a larger firm, at Everett Group you will enjoy the opportunity to experience many different aspects of audit and accountancy because of the wide diversity of work required for our many different types of clients. Your hands-on work will include:

  • corporate and business taxation
  • statutory audit for companies and specialist institutions
  • management and year end accounting
  • specialist assignments

We take an active interest in your qualifying process and we have regular two-way staff assessments and progress reports. Your promotion within the firm is dependent only on your ability, not your age or length of service

Your training and hands-on experience will enable you to discern where your own strengths lie; we will support and encourage you to progress in your chosen direction, whether it be diversification or specialisation. We are keen to develop trainees to have a constructive role in the world of business and economics and the all round experience you gain through working for us will be beneficial to us, our clients, and especially you in your career development.

  • As well as developing your own career you will play an important and exciting role in making us our clients' first source of business advice
  • If you are up to it - if you have the potential, you could become a partner
  • We offer a competitive salary and benefits
  • The office is a friendly working environment
