Services - Personal Business Advice

Business Advice

At the Everett Group, business guidance is an integrated part of our service. We strive to become your first source of business advice and recruit well rounded diligent individuals to meet this objective.

We aim to provide much more than once a year number crunching, preferring to work in a supportive cooperative role to gain an in-depth understanding of your business and its objectives. Your personal named accountant will provide the level of commitment and efficiency you would normally expect from in-house staff, offering proactive, constructive advice or drawing on the specialisms of the Everett partners as best meets the needs of your business. Here are just some of the advisory services we offer; but please feel free to contact us if you have any other requirements.

Business start-up planning and advice

We work in partnership with our clients from their inception throughout the life of their business. We can recommend the most suitable business entity, assist in developing an initial business plan, instigate all necessary statutory registration and compliance, secure finance, advise on employment regulations and establish the right accounting systems, procedures and internal controls. Our diverse experience gained from developing businesses across a broad range of businesses and industry sectors will be used to best effect to develop your business to its full potential.

Strategic Business Planning

For ongoing business success you need a clear strategic direction backed up by a measurable and achievable business plan. The constant demands of operating a business can override the need to step back and take an objective view of where the business should be heading, and how it will get there.

Our appreciation of your financial position and your business aspirations gained during our working partnership, combined with our awareness of your industry sector in general, means we are uniquely positioned to provide an independent but educated view of the current position of your business and the attainability of your future plans. Our total commitment across the full range of our extensive portfolio of services means that whatever your future plans, you can be confident that our business advice will be timely, appropriate and based on relevant experience.

Financial Management

For most businesses it's not cost effective to employ their own in-house accountant or Financial Director. That's why at the Everett Group we provide a range of services tailored to meet your needs. We can provide an experienced "Financial Director" to fulfil all the requirements of this role, attending board meetings, overseeing your commercial strategy, recommending informed financial decisions and providing an educated input to your business planning process.

Alternatively, your named accountant can provide the services of an "in-house" accountant providing value-added business advice and working with you in a proactive fashion, month on month to provide the financial background and management information that supports your business decisions.

Business Forecasting

Business forecasting is a natural progression from the preparation of management accounts. Working in partnership, we can draw on your financial data to identify the current trends for your business. The addition of market data, economic data and key performance indicators for your industry sectors will provide the basis of sales, cashflow and profit projections. These forecasts can then be measured against recent historical performance to feed the process further.

Financial modelling

We can work with you to define and compare the impact of specific business initiatives and alternative scenarios on the financial position of your business utilising your current management information data. Financial information systems

Comprehensive management information starts with the accurate recording of financial transactions in a book keeping system. That data then needs to be presented, along with other relevant information in a meaningful way. We can advise on the most appropriate accounting packages for your size and style of business that matches the expected growth path and levels of flexibility required by your business.

Acquisition and Disposal of Business

The extensive Everett Group portfolio includes all the varied services required when acquiring another business. You can therefore be confident that all your needs are being serviced through one supportive and professional cost-effective relationship. We can value your target business, perform due diligence and help you raise finance on the best possible terms. Our commercial expertise can be used to your advantage during negotiations and of course we are best placed to recommend the most tax efficient vehicle for purchase.

If you are looking to sell your business, you will need some of the same services: a thorough valuation of your business relevant to your industry sector, and in some circumstances an independent due diligence report. Our negotiation skills will again be at your disposal, along with relevant tax recommendations.

Investment appraisals

Because we work so closely with our clients, we have an enhanced appreciation of the business drivers across a broad range of industry sectors, and are therefore ideally placed to undertake independent valuations of private companies. Our independent comprehensive advice is always supported by a detailed valuation report. Sources of finance, grant assistance and support

Well structured adequate financing is an essential ingredient for a growing business. There are many sources of finance available including banks, venture capitalists and government backed funding. There are also different ways of structuring finance to consider, for example debt or equity or a combination of the two. We can help you determine the most appropriate and cost-effective finance for your business, and prepare business plans and any other supporting documentation to assist you in securing that finance.

If you are looking to float your business on a public market - or to secure alternative additional finance - we can perform Due Diligence on your business to determine its potential for attracting investment and whether it has the appropriate procedural rigour to become a public quoted company. Where changes are indicated, we will work with you to implement those changes to ensure that your business is optimally positioned to attract investment. Joint ventures, licensing and franchising agreements

We can negotiate, advise on or review any contractual arrangements you undertake with third parties when considering a joint venture, licensing or franchise agreement. Pension scheme advice

Good corporate governance suggests that pension scheme trustees look to independent sources for advice and guidance. At the Everett Group we can provide both our full range of audit and accountancy services and supplementary services tailored to the specific requirements of pension scheme trustees to assist in compliance with the Pension Act 2005 regulations and the radical new tax regimes for pensions introduced on 6 April 2006 - "A-Day".

Forensic Accounting

Our broad spectrum of knowledge and experience enables us to provide a range of cost-effective forensic accounting services, including financial investigation and loss quantification and the tax implications of any findings. Expert Witness

We can provide a range of litigation support services to meet your needs including negotiation of out of court settlements, pre-trial advice and where required expert testimony in court; all supported by credible detailed reports. *
